It's the busy season and already starting to get a bit crazy! So, before I forget, here are a few of the things we've been up to lately...
Our church has special Volunteer Awards at the end of each year to celebrate and thank everyone who volunteers. Each year has a theme, and this year it was 70's! We had so much fun dressing up and everything at the event was 70's theme... think chocolate fountains, records on the walls, punch and more.
We've been getting into the Christmas spirit around here with the annual Christmas Tree photo with Egg Nog and other fun activities.
Along with that, we had to bring out the Elf...
Other adventures lately include hanging out in our city of Whangarei, fondly known as "The Rei"...
Having our local Mayor Sheryl Mai come along to our school end of year presentations...
Getting the chance as a church to take part in helping pack 1080 Christmas boxes for our local community. So awesome!!
Love our staff and oversight team and all the of year celebrations!
One of the good things to come out of 2020 was The Symon & Kristy Show! We finished our 10th and final episode last week and featured some of our kids. The show was started during lockdown as a way to connect with our church and help people get to know us better. All the episodes are available on Facebook, Instagram and most podcasts apps by searching "The Symon & Kristy Show".
My Crafty Girls group had it's final night/Christmas Party last night and one of our ladies made the coolest Christmas cake!
And lastly, Symon and I are about to go on leave for over 9 weeks on our first ever Sabbatical as Pastors. Last Sunday at church, we were surprised with the coolest basket of goodies ever, some flowers - but wait, there was more.
Some of the people had gotten together to buy Symon his all time lego dream (that he never thought he'd ever own)... the Millenium Falcon. Photos below and video here. Suffice to say we were blown away. Thank you soooooo much everyone. We felt so loved and honoured.
With going away soon we will be going on a social media fast as well for 2 months, but do not fear - I'm probably going to be blogging a lot more, so see you around these parts again soon!
