I remember my mum having macrame items around our home back in the 80's that i didn't really like, but times have changed and now macrame doesn't seem as ugly as it used to.

So, here's my first attempt at macrame, and it's a plant holder for my daughters room. I'm rather proud of myself and can't wait to try another!
