Our beautiful friend Kate celebrated her 30th this weekend with a dress up dinner. The theme was "famous, film and fairy tale characters starting with the first letter of your name".
Syms and I always love a good dress-up party (must be because of the all the years we've been youth pastors doing crazy dress up events) but I just couldn't quite decide what to dress up as starting with 'K'... Keira Knightley in Pirates of the Caribbean, Keisha Castle-Hughes in Whale Rider or Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games?
I soooo wanted to go as Keisha with my big blow up whale cause I knew it would be funny, but it just wasn't quite happening...
So I settled on Katniss, and Symon went as Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Carribbean (he looked pretty awesome if you ask me ;)
It's always a bit awkward when you first arrive at a dress up party - that's until you meet Moses (with his tablets) and Ronald McDonald (with his healthy salad), then everything is fine.
The party was awesome - everyone dressed up and it was so funny!

Kate is such a precious girl - she looked amazing as Kimbra. Happy birthday Kate - love you lots!

Such awesome costumes! wow I'm impressed. I must say i love how you manage to hold your pose in the group photo and also if I'm allowed to say, Jack Sparrow looks quite hot. Did you keep him in costume at bedtime, tehe??

Um Dora Dan was VERY SCARY indeed and would freak the living daylights outta my dora loving 3yr old!! hahaha (I'm thinking that might be quite good...for me anyway!!) lol You looked fab..and like I said on facebook... someone enjoyed the opportunity to get into your eyeliner...hehe! I thought Keith Green was Julian....but I must be wrong and am trying to think who beginning with K that was!! Great laugh for the morning!! xx
