Last week Tuesday started out with losing a precious friend, a week of deep grief and funeral preparations, to this Tuesday, Symon's birthday... and what a day.
This last week has been full of dark and sad moments, but despite the dark grey clouds overhead, there have been piercing rays of sunlight breaking through, because I know that even when the dark clouds come, the sun never ceases to shine.
It is much easier to trust when the sun is shining than when the storm
is raging.
We never know how much real faith we have until it is put to the test
in some fierce storm;
and that is the reason why the Saviour is on board.
If you are ever to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might,
your strength will be born in some storm.

ReplyDeletePsalm 42 - excerpts
2My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
3My tears have been my food day and night,
while men say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
5Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
7Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.
8By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.
Love and hugs to you... hope you get to celebrate the birthday milestone when the bugs and injuries are cleared away...?

Beautiful words Kristy in spite of the storm you are sailing through. May Jesus be so incredibly tangible for you all right now xx
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss and hope all injuries to loved ones are put to rest in a flash. Yes, sometimes there are storms, but with age comes a better understanding about what faith is all about. Happy Birthday also to your sweetie.
