Just wanting to say goodbye to you all as we leave for Israel!
Tears have been shed, family, friends and pets will be missed... but it will be the adventure of a lifetime!
The fact that we are actually going to the place where God became a human is going to be pretty amazing!!!
"No matter how crazy your life is, there is always time for sushi with the ones you love." (quote by me - haha)
♥
Despite the busyness of packing for our trip in the middle of our school hoidays, I have somehow found time to finish off a few things... I think I have a really bad addiction to crafting when I should be doing more important things.
You may remember that candlewick fabric I found? Well look at these cute little softie bunnies I made from it - so snuggly and soft (and so many retro memories that come with that fabric!).
And a little pink corduroy bunny too...
Another slouch crochet beanie...
And look what arrived in the mail today - the cutest little Amigurumi Lemon Cupcake made by Donna (from Cute Designs) that I won in her giveaway! I can't wait to try and crochet my own cupcake sometime.
Have a great week everyone!!
Okay - so that last post was meant to be my last for a while (weaning myself from blogging before our trip), but alas...
Here are some of my favourite things this week...
My pink fluffy slippers...
Extended family gatherings...
Surprises in the mail from blogging friends (thanks Gail)...
Catching my husband doing some "Extreme Coning"...
And one of the highlights of our week - getting to ride in my Uncle's Model A Ford car... too much fun!
Have an awesome weekend everyone!!
Just letting you know that I've shut up the shop before we go on our adventure... but don't worry, everything will be back in it's proper place once we are back (and if you are a robber, our place is being looked after, so don't even think about breaking in and stealing softies and beanies.
Although you can contact me if you want a free ringneck parrot).

JUST KIDDING!
Sort of.
Things aren't always as they seem around here...
Take for example these delicious looking Coffee & Chocolate Scones...
They were actually disgusting. Usually in our house there aren't leftovers... but there were plenty of these left over (I won't offer to share the recipe this time).
And what about this cute little softie (from the "Ugly Bunny" range - just thought I'd mention that incase you thought it was rather ugly)...
Let's just call it the "deformed leg" softie, thanks to a little someone (who is yet to own up) snipping holes in it's legs. Out of sympathy, Master 11 has offered to adopt it.
And what about this serene photo of the keyboard being played by cute little fingers... can't you just imagine my children sitting nicely during these holidays colouring, making beautiful music on the keyboard, playing games politely together...
Well, the truth is that this is the reality...
Thankfully Barney isn't being too naughty while sleeping in the pretend T.V. (unlike Grover yesterday).
Yes, things aren't always as they seem...
I've had a few beanie projects to finish this last week - one for a friend who shaved all her hair off to raise funds for the leukemia foundation, and another for a little girl who has undergone chemotherapy and has lost all of her beautiful hair.
It's been fun crocheting for a cause, but I've had so much trouble when it comes to finding models for my beanies around the house - no one is keen at all! I've tried bribing with lollies and chocolate (apparently they don't like that "yukky dark chocolate" we have in the pantry), and even threatening... but for some strange reason, everyone is sick of modeling the beanies.
And when I do get a photo, it looks like this or this one below...
So alas, I think those years of cute beanie modeling photos (here, here and here) have come to an end.
I will just have to be thankful for the lovely white drawers that happily display the latest creations...
I was allowed a couple of shots like this one below if no face was showing!
Quite cute really.
The girls and I desperately needed some time out yesterday.
Not the naughty kind of 'time out' where you have to go to your room or sit on the naughty chair... this was the kind of 'time out' where you have to go to a café and sit on a chair for AT LEAST half an hour, drink yummy warm drinks, talk and giggle and just be girls.
I like that kind of time out... it was healing to the soul and just the sort of thing my two little girls and I needed.
Not long before Symon and I are off on our adventure, and I am going to miss my family sooooooo much!
Here are a few things I am loving at the moment...
Coffee!!!
Mustache beanies...
Snuggly bunnies...
This cute list.
The fact that Miss 3 prefers non-moving "ride-ons" - cheap thrills!
Alexa Meade, an amazing artist who actually paints onto humans. Check out her flickr photos here. Be prepared to be amazed... or intrigued.
