Licorice Slice

Licorice slice - the perfect party food.

I was given this recipe recently after tasting it and raving about it - and I thought I'd share it with you too! Thanks Ginny for the recipe.

Ingredients
400g chopped licorice allsorts
125g butter
200g condensed milk
250g digestive biscuits, crushed
½ cup ground hazelnuts
30g kremelta
180g white chocolate

Grease and line 19x9cm pan with baking paper, put butter and condensed milk in a pan or microwave to melt then let cool.

Add crushed biscuits, hazelnut meal and licorice to the butter mix, stir to combine.  Press into prepared tin and smooth the surface.

Melt white chocolate and kremelta together in a pan or microwave and pour over the slice as icing and let set.

Cut with a warm knife when set and enjoy!

  1. My husband would die for a piece of that! Unfortunately I am not a fan of licorice, when I was little I compared it to looking like sheep poo when you stood on it and it kinda goes green.. But that is a beautiful and colorful non sheep poo looking licorice slice :)

Your family is very lucky to have such a clever baker mum in the house xxx

  9. Oh,that sounds so good! But I'm not sure what "kremelta" is. I'm in the States, and I don't know if we have that here. I hate to sound like a dunce, but if the shoe fits... LOL! Okay, I confess. I have no idea what it is. And what is a digestive bisquit? I'm really feeling dumber by the moment. I have visions of me sitting in the corner with a giant dunce cap on my noggin! ;-)

    XO,

    Sheila :-)
