Currently I am working on a couple of things...
Firstly, two quilts for the girls, made from left over bits of material. Did I ever think I would be the sort of person to make a quilt? No! Do I even know what I am doing? Not at all! I would appreciate any tips from quilting experts out there... especially regarding using the darning foot on my machine to do some 'free motion' patterns on the quilt.

The other thing I am working on is my very bad attitude towards these shoes (and their owner ;) If they're not left next to my bed, I find them taken off in doorways and other random places where someone could easily trip and break a leg. Does anyone else struggle with a problem like this?
Anyways... what are you currently working on?

Love the quilt Kristy! I have never tried, but am quite keen to give the scrappy quilting a go. We have a Granny (Mum in law) who loves to quilt and does an amazing job.... so I leave them up to her :) Have thought about doing a night class though.
ReplyDeleteAt least I have good taste in footwear. Chucks rule wherever they are ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the quilts... :) I am wanting to make one this year for Hope (she's gonna be 13 this year!!!).
ReplyDeleteI have a man and three children who leave their shoes and in fact all their belongings all over the house! Drives me crazy...
I read what Symon wrote as CHICKS rule whereever they are... hehehe - see just change the u to a i and you have everything you ever wanted!
I want to sympathize with Symon here sorry :) Chucks do rule above all other kicks.
ReplyDeleteOh dont get me started on chucks...
ReplyDeleteThose an skiny jeans, id rather wear one of those quilted covers as a sarong (sorry kristy wrong place to be having this argument).
Kristy very creative indeed :)
You crack me up Rhys!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rhys on the chuck-ups. Nicely put Rhys!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to put "making Rhys a quilted sarong" on my to do list!
ReplyDeletelove the fabrics for the quilt!
ReplyDeleteAnd the shoe thing! Yeeeeessss! That drives me CRAZY! I've had to stop saying something because it just drives me so darn nuts how he forgets and shoves at least three pairs of shoes under the bed so that (a) in middle of the night you trip over them and stub your toe often on the heaviest shoe in the house and (b) that he's hunting high and low for them when we have to go out and can't find them!
Rhys...keep your dress up sessions to yourself! Don't think I can look at you the same again...go play some paintball or something.
ReplyDeletehahaha awesome go the chuck wars...
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt and fabic choices. Love that little doll on the quilt even more......she's so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours in your quilt. Those large blocks of colour will work brilliantly. I hope the free motion stuff works out. I used to begin with safety pins, stitch in the ditch on major seams before letting loose with the freemotion. This way everything is well held together and the pins are out of the way, before you start on the freemotion.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments... I love hearing from you!!!
