Gratitude Wrap

By PaisleyJade - Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Okay - so I am going all motherly and crafty-like... it's actually quite scary!

I have just finished my first attempt at making a Gratitude Wrap. It was also my first time at sewing bias binding on a sewing machine and was my worst nightmare! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah... I hate bias binding!

This special idea was created by Soulemama and was her solution to never getting around to thanking those special people in our lives. It is a special little wrap (I know mine looks more like one of those granny pot mit things) and in it is a place for thankyou cards, a place for an address book (and pen if you want) and another little pocket for a book of stamps. What a great idea!

I love this quote... "Silent gratitude isn't very much use to anyone." Gertrude Stein

So for anyone who is keen to give one a try, checkout her free pattern here.

  1. OMGoodness yours is totally professional! Mine - well no binding there, so not so professional. I am going to give it another go .... once I've finished my million other sewing and other projects!!

  2. I hope to goodness you haven't been hostaging Symon and showing ransom pictures of him sewing again.

You have no idea the amounts of therapy we had to take him through last time to bring him back and snap him out of it!

  5. Ha ha - what a good idea! I was contemplating taking a picture of him folding my massive pile of washing tonight - such a rare sight - that would have been a great ransom photo!

  6. I LOVE the colours and pattern you chose for your gratitude wrap! Not at all grannyish. One thing I've noticed about Aussies (I know you're Kiwi, its as I'm living here) is that they don't give thank you cards at all. In fact I am desperate to find a decent set of thank you cards but can't find them anywhere! Must be the Brit in me coming out.

  7. Great work Rach, you put me to shame. The idea forms, but sadly there's no action. I'd seriously prefer a hammer and nail.
